The workshop Transculturality: An Operational Concept in Europe? on May 27th, 2022 at Sapienza University of Rome welcomes scholars from literature and the humanities to compare the uses of the concept of Transculturality in different disciplines and cultural and linguistic areas. The aim of the day is to assess the operationality of the concept. The applicability of methods, ideas, principles will also be the object of reflection and investigation.
The project Transcultural Europe in the Global World focuses on intra-European processes of transculturation. The aim is to reflect on the configuration of Europe and its potential at a time when contacts between different cultures and their interactions are accelerating and multiplying. From a multidisciplinary perspective, the concept of transculturality is used as an epistemological category for understanding the cultural complexity of today's Europe and its role in a global world.
